Did you know red cabbage can be used as a natural blue dye? We were hopping with excitement and curiosity while creating this blue ombre Easter egg decoration.

Note: We used white eggs. Brown eggs will have a green hue with the natural red cabbage dye.

Chop red cabbage.

Cover red cabbage with 1" of water and boil for 1 hour. Drain dye through mesh strainer into a measuring bowl. For every cup of dye add 1 tablespoon of distilled vinegar.

Submerge white hard boiled eggs into dye until desired color.

Tip: Our lightest blue eggs were submerged for 30 minutes. Our darkest blue eggs were submerged for 8 hours (overnight).
